The HAT or “hub-of-all-things” provides a marketplace for personal data. HAT users, individuals with their own HAT personal data platforms are able to collect, control, combine, contextualize, visualise and share their personal data in a privacy-preserving way.

For HAT platforms and apps to function within the HAT marketplace, HAT platform providers (HPPs) and app developers / providers (HAPs), including HATDeX, must be certified by the HAT Community Foundation. This is to provide assurance to users that their HAT platform and apps conform with the scheme rules for privacy, confidentiality, security and trust.
