Data Plug for open Banking APIs

We have had numerous requests for banking data to come into HATs. However, the current legislation does not account for individuals as owners of their own HAT private micro-server data account and being able to get their own data through APIs. Banks can only give other companies API access to your data, and not to you, as HAT owners.

Hence, open banking Data Plugs will not be deployed until permission is given. We have informed the HAT Community Foundation and the FCA and we await fresh instructions before proceeding.

We understand that individual HAT owners have launched their own action (Claimyourdata.me, Irene Ng, our Chairman have also started her own action). While we are supportive, we are not able to do more at this juncture.

Spotify Data Plug

Latest updated April 2018:

Spotify Plug submission by Liz Chandler approved. Spotify Plug is now live and active in the HAT ecosstem

February 2018:

Pull data in from your Spotify account.

Status: Plug ready, awaiting further instructions on deployment

NOTICE

Spotify API access is granted to apps that are data controllers and data processors. HATDeX Data Plugs are API-to-API Service called on under instruction between HAT owners and Spotify and it is HAT owners themselves that are the data controllers of their own data on the HAT platform. As such, HATDeX is not able to deploy the Spotify plug without Spotify’s permission to do so.

We have informed the HAT Community Foundation of this, and fully support the Claim Your Data initiative for better individual control of data but until Spotify informs us otherwise, the plug cannot be deployed on HATs.
